How to clean and care for your intimate products

Caring for intimate products does not need to be complicated. The simplest routines are often the best. Good care is not about stronger cleaners or special equipment. It is about a few gentle habits that look after your body and help your products last.

Why cleaning matters

Intimate products come into close contact with sensitive skin, so hygiene really matters. Cleaning removes natural body fluids and lubricant, keeps the surface fresh and helps prevent irritation. It also keeps the silicone in good condition, so your product feels just as smooth months from now as it does today.

When to clean

Clean your product before and after every use. If it has been put away for a while, give it a quick rinse before you use it again, as dust can settle even in a drawer.

It soon becomes part of the ritual rather than a chore.

How to clean

• Rinse the product under warm running water.
• Wash it with a mild, unscented soap, paying a little extra attention to any ridges or textured areas.
• Rinse well until no soap remains.
• Avoid alcohol, bleach, solvents and harsh cleaners, as they can damage silicone.

Check how water-resistant your product is before you start. Pieces rated IPX6, such as Bud, Flow, Pebble and Pulse, are happy under a running tap but should not be submerged. Bloom is rated IPX7, so it can also be briefly immersed. Seeds and Ring have no electronics and can simply be washed. Always keep charging ports dry and never clean a product while it is charging.

Drying and storage

Pat your product dry with a clean, lint-free cloth and let it air dry fully before putting it away. Moisture left on the surface is what leads to unwanted smells.

Store each piece somewhere cool, dry and away from direct sunlight. Keep it separate from other products, as some materials can react with silicone when they touch. A soft fabric pouch or the original box works well.

Looking after the battery

Charge rechargeable products with the cable provided and unplug them once they are full. If you will not be using a product for a while, give it a top-up charge every few months to keep the battery healthy.

When to replace a product

Even with good care, everything has a lifespan. Stop using a product and replace it if the surface becomes sticky, cracked or no longer smooth, if a smell persists after cleaning, or if you see any damage at all. Trusting what you see and feel is part of caring for yourself.
